The Benefits of Reading to Children is indisputable:

When I was a young parent I would find that spending time reading was a constant struggle to overcome:

  1. Finding the time.

  2. Where could I find the perfect place to read one on one?

  3. Why does reading matter anyway?

I was able to experience the benefits of reading together, when I was succeeded and found that time and that special quiet reading space with my child. Language was improved and my child's interaction with me became more fluent with communication.  These abilities were measurable and it was amazing how quickly word usage and skill were developing. There was a direct cause and effect the more I would read the more communication and reasoning I would hear. I still have these moments today with my grandkids.  My grandson is 2 years old, and it seems that every time we spend quality time reading, I immediately start hearing the new words he learned being used in his speech.

  • His word choice becomes acutely more pronounced.

  • His thought development becomes more concentrated and focused.

  • He isn't crying about something he would like rather; he is becoming communicative.

These are normal patterns of language development from reading together. This is factual evidence and recognized by most Pediatricians today. The Cleveland Clinic in an article supports and outlines the benefits of reading to children as:

  • Building of language skills

  • Relationship Bonding

  • Emotional learning

  • Effectively stablishing routines

  • School success
